Sunday Snippets is brought to you each week by RAnn at This, That and the Other Thing.

This week's Music Monday featured a Gregorian Chant Ave Maria. Art and Beauty Tuesday juxtaposed Thomas Kinkade with Rembrandt and for Poetry Wednesday, we read a bit of St. John of the Cross.

This week we also looked at how to make Moroccan tea, 12 Things Happy People do Differently, and a moving video about miraculous survival on 9/11.

This was carousel week at The Well! We listened to a 1926 Dentzel Carousel from Kennywood Park in PA and looked at Laurie Justus Pace's Escape of the Carousel. We even heard from the artist!

We also read a poem called The Carousel by WriteEditSeek.

I wrote 2 pieces on Scripture, one called Go Deeper and the other called Being Pruned.

This week we listened to a Mass setting using the new translation, which will soon be implemented throughout the English speaking world.  Tuesday we looked at Morning Mist at Nagarkot by Scott Burdick.  Wednesday we read a poem by Emily Dickinson.

I also wrote a piece about keeping our oil lamps filled from a sermon I heard about the wise and foolish virgins.

This was quite a busy blogging week. Aside from our usual music (Polovtsian Dances)  art  (Ballet Class) and poetry (Children Learn What They Live), we prayed for London, watched a short film about a couple whose child has a disability (This is Faith) ,  and shared a recipe for making yogurt in the crockpot.

We also talked about what lessons God might be asking us to learn in this shaky economy (Gandhian Economics) and the War on Antidepressants.

This week's theme was the hot weather we've been having.  Music Monday featured Lovin' Spoonful's Summer in the City.  Art and Beauty Tuesday featured Summer at the Taco Bell, Rt. 22, Hillside, NJ by Valeri Larko.  Poetry Wednesday featured one of my own poems, This Time.

I highlighted a budget food blog, Budget Bytes and the newly restored Cyclorama in Gettysburg.

Finally, I highlighted a very important article by Mark Shea on Catholic Social Justice and the Economy.

This week I talked about Aaron Copeland's Fanfare for the Common Man--very July and very American.  We looked at Jeff Ward's painting, Eagle-Owl, a beautiful brown and black eagle done in a painterly style.  For Poetry Wednesday we looked at Edward Lear's The Owl and the Pussycat.

I talked about weeds in light of last week's Gospel reading, put up some more pictures of Pen Mar Park, and reviewed Stephen Fry's documentary on manic depression.

Finally, I wrote a piece on expression of doubt in religious education.

This week we really did wind up Vivaldi and we talked about the colorful Girl with Two Caged Doves by John Frederick Louis.  Our poem was Let it Go by e.e. cummings.  I also posted about the media feeding frenzy surrounding Casey Anthony and some beautiful local scenery in nearby Maryland.

This week was an exciting week at the Well. We listened to Lincoln Portrait by American composer Aaron Copeland, looked at a historic miniature that may be the first portrait of Lincoln ever painted, Read A Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes and prayed Psalm 51.

We are finally heading to the end of Vivaldi's Gloria!  Next week is our final week!

Last week's Art and Beauty Tuesday featured John Singer Sargent's Spirto Santo Saatera, a beautiful water color. This week we featured John Everett Millais' Wedding Cards.  Last week's poetry was Zeynep Hatun's I am a Fountain, a beautiful poem reaching out to God.  This week was a short poem by Amy Lowell, To a Husband.

I also featured Prayer for Control of the Tongue and a beautiful YouTube video for Corpus Christi.

This week we continued our listen to Vivaldi's Gloria--this time to Domine Deus--a beautiful alto solo.  We also continued our Novena to the Holy Spirit.

For Art and Beauty Tuesday, we looked at Morkenkaffen (Morning Coffee) by Harald Slott Moller.

Today I posted Be Not Afraid--Listen to God's Voice, with a quote from Pope John Paul II and a song from Celtic Woman as well as a picture of the cacti on my hill.

This week I began the Novena to the Holy Spirit, which is a series of YouTube Videos with the novena prayers.

I also talked about the bird revolution that seems to be taking place outside my front door.

This week we looked at Good Shepherd Sunday, and the feast of St. Rita. We also continued listening to Vivaldi's Gloria, looked at The Good Shepherd by Larry Dyke, and a haiku about museum sheep. I also posted about the end times obsession.

For Easter Music Monday we listened to part of the Vivaldi Gloria--one of the best Glorias written.  On Tuesday we looked at Light Breaking Through the Clouds--Pic1 by Paul Huet.  On Wednesday, we looked at Psalm 105 and on Saturday we looked at a verse from Psalm 49. We also looked at a censor of other-worldy size in Spain.

This week we looked at a Lenten Music Meditation that encouraged us to fast on petty sinfulness and feast on Christ.  We also looked at Gus Lopez' Rays of Light on a Winter Morning and read another moving installment of Gregory Petrov's beautiful poem in praise of God.

This week was also the feast of St. Gemma Galgani--an early 20th century saint with a traditional spirituality.

This week is Holy Week and we have some beautiful art, music and poetry coming up.
