This less-seen Willie Bobo album was the third in the Afro-Cuban Jazz percussionist's string of recordings for the Verve label (following the stellar 'Spanish Grease' and 'Uno, Dos, Tres 1,2,3'), and brought new focus to his vocals.
Bobo was a contemporary of Mongo Santamaria, and first made a name for himself during the mambo dance craze of the 1950s as a member of
George Shearing's band, before joining with Cal Tjader.
By the '60s, Bobo's 'Latin' sound grew to encompass Boogaloo and Soul-Jazz Fusion.
