Last Friday in the middle of a post remembering the recently departed Dody Goodman I mentioned that I'd just then learned about the existence of an LP the comedienne had released back in the 1950's.
Buster of Big 10-Inch Record saw the post, and has very generously shared tracks from the album for us all to enjoy!
It's a pretty perfect little novelty album. Dody combines comedic and proper stage musical elements with a singing voice that sounds sort of like a cross between Blossom Dearie and
Darlene Edwards.
From the 'Dody Goodman Sings?' LP
(Coral Records, 1957), Listen to:
Tranquilizers
Today Will Be Yesterday
Jewel Song
Pneumatic Drill
I Always Say Hello
I'd Rather Cha-Cha Than Eat
